Foster The People Concert Tickets The musically talented trio of Mark Foster, Mark Pontius, and Cubbie Fink, known as Foster The People, have recently become a pop culture phenomenon around the country. The American alternative band was formed in Los Angeles, California, and from their album “Torches”, the music single “Pumped Up Kicks”, about a school shooting, has reached number one on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, number three in Rock Songs, and number three on Billboard's Hot 100. Foster The People Tickets are on sale for their next four performances on December 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th, and 9th. They will be at the State Fairgrounds in Tampa Florida, Target Center in Minnesota, Key Arena in Washington, Lifestyle Communities Pavilion in Ohio, and Madison Square Gardens in New York. Mark Foster, the founder of the group, actually named the group Foster and the People, but it was misheard as Foster The People, and he liked the sound of Foster becoming the verb of caring instead. Also called FTP, the group is by some, considered indie pop that is more melodic, and less noisy. Indie pop also reflects independent music, or a do-it-yourself, lower budget, way of promoting and recording. Mark, born in Cleveland, Ohio, began his music career, by writing jingles for a company named Mophonics. He also scored advertisements such as Verizon, T-Mobile, Bank of America, California tourism, Muscle Milk, and Honey Bunches of Oats. The group got together while in California, each playing in their own bands. Mark formed the group, and their collective music influences consist of Blur, the Beach Boys, Michael Jackson, New Order, The Clash, David Bowie, and Aphex Twin. “Torches” the album, contains the songs “Helena Beat”, Pumped Up Kicks, and “Call It What You Want”. Foster The People Concert Tickets are available now for their December concerts. Their catchy melodies, and the group's endless energy, will make you want to sing along. |
