Foster The People Minneapolis Concert Tickets

The American, alternative band from Los Angeles is appearing in Minneapolis, at Target Center on Sunday, December 4th , 2011.  This concert is a re-scheduled performance from October 6th, and tickets are selling quickly.  Mark Foster, Mark Pontius, and Cubbie Fink united in 2009 to bring their great musical talents together to form the group, and they have had tours all over the world since then.  They are best known for their song “Pumped up Kicks”, and their album “Torches” which was released in May, 2011.  They entertain with great energy, and the catchy melodies in Foster's songs, make you want to sing along.  Since their first song hit the charts, they have been very much in demand, and they even appeared on Saturday Night Live earlier this year.  Incorporating many genres of music, young and old can appreciate their work.

Mark Foster, founder of Foster the People, grew up in in Cleveland, Ohio.  He began writing advertisement jingles for a company called Mophonics, and went on to score catchy tunes for Verizon, T-Mobile, Bank of America, and Honey Bunches of Oats.  Mark wrote “Pumped Up Kicks” in only three hours, posted it to his website, the song went viral, and soon after, he landed a deal with Columbia/Star Time International.  Mark Pontius, and Cubbie Fink lived in California, and after Foster moved there, the three became friends, although each played in bands of their own.  Mark attended acting school, and continued writing songs, and after a few years, asked his friends to join him in a group.  The group's collective, musical influences are Blur, Michael Jackson, The Clash, Aphex Twin, New Order, David Bowie, and The Beach Boys.

The group's music has been somewhat labeled alternative or indie music, which is derived from independent, or a do-it-yourself, lower budget way of getting your music produced and out to the public.  National Public Radio credits the group's  rise to fame, to the Hype Machine, which Foster used to advertise and promote his songs.  No matter what you want to call it, these friends have fun composing and performing together.  Their popularity is unbelievable, and the group is enjoying their success.  Their album “Torches”, includes the songs “Pumped up Kicks”, as well as “Helena Beat”, and “Call It What You Want”.  If you want to see them on stage, Foster The People concert tickets are available today.
