Zac Brown began playing classical guitar at age 7, and because he was the eleventh of twelve children in his family, he knew how to survive with little help.  As a teenager, he played solo in some hometown, Georgia venues, singing pop songs.  The band that he started in college was not to last, but in 2002, the Zac Brown Band formed, and they scheduled 200 shows in that year.  The emotional effect of the September 11th tragedy in New York, made him decide to go full force with what he loved immediately, realizing that life is too short to make dreams wait.  In 2003, he started his own label called “Southern Ground”, and in 2004, he opened a music club/restaurant with his father, called Zac's Place, in his home state of Georgia.  He has also started on “Camp Southern Ground”, which is a dream camp for special needs children, which is built by his own home in Georgia.  Zac was a camp counselor for mentally and physically challenged kids for a few summers before he became star status, and having four children himself, he wants to give back.  The song title “You Get What You Give” explains his philosophy of giving back.
