NCAA Football – About the Boise State Broncos Boise State football has previously been a part of the Football Subdivision of Division I football as part of the Western Athletic Conference, but will makes its transition to the Mountain West Conference in the summer of 2011. It’s new position in this Conference will pit the Broncos against teams like Air Force football, BYU football and Colorado State football. Follow your team and see how they fare as part of this new area of competition. Boise State started out as a junior college but the football program joined the big leagues, the NCAA in 1968 and has since made a name for itself with several championships, bowl games and NFL draftees. The 2011 draft took Austin Pettis (3rd round), Titus Young (2nd round) and Kyle Brotzman (undrafted free agent) but with the dreaded lockout, these men’s future is still somewhat uncertain. While donning the blue and orange and cheered on by Buster Bronco, this team has historically rivaled with Idaho, Nevado, Fresno State, Hawaii and TCU. All of this is in line to change as the team makes its latest transition to a new conference, but they may still see these rivals in non-conference play.
