NFL Football – About the San Diego Chargers The Chargers have a steady history of success and hold multiple “firsts” and “only’s” near and dear to their hearts. The San Diego Chargers were a charter member of the American Football League in 1960 but played their first season in Los Angeles before moving permanently to San Diego. They’re their only team to start a season 0-4 and make the playoffs (’92) and the only team to start the season 4-8 and make the playoffs (’08). They are one of five NFL teams (since the 1970 merger) to rank first in overall defense and offense in the same season (’10). Finally, they are one of only four teams to not have a losing record since 2004. Clearly, the Chargers are a strong franchise that has had a lot of success, on and off the field. They have a longtime rivalry with the Oakland Raiders and have history with the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and the Seattle Seahawks. The Oakland football team sports Navy, Gold and White uniforms during regular games and has a Powder Blue alternate uniform that is worn less often. They boast a powerful fight son called San Diego Super Chargers Anthem – P.O.D. They’re fondly called The Bolts and San Diego Super Chargers by their loyal fans and followers.
