NFL Football – About the Tennessee Titans The Titans started their career as the Houston Oilers before moving to Tennessee in 1997. They played one season at the Liberty Bowl memorial Stadium in Memphis as the Tennessee Oilers before moving to Nashville in 1998 and changing the name to the Titans. Today, they play in LP Field and are headquartered in Baptist Sports Park in Nashville. The Tennessee Titans are owned by Bud Adams, who also serves as the Chairman, CEO and President. The General Manager and Head Coach is Mike Munchak and mascot T-Rac keeps everyone cheering. T-Rac is a raccoon, Tennessee’s state animal, and he has been involved in an accident with former New Orleans Saints quarterback Adrian McPherson. Currently, this Tennessee team wears uniforms of Titans Blue, Navy, White, Red and Silver. The team, however, had a different look under their previous name (Houston Oilers). Their logo at that time was an oil rig derrick in blue, outlined in red. The uniform was fairly consistent during the Oilers period from 1960 to 1997. During the two years the team was known as the Tennessee Oilers, the logo was a combination of the derrick and the American Flag, before moving to their current Titans logo in 1999. The Tennessee Titans are a great team with a relatively stable history. If their your team, be sure you’re out there ready to cheer during this season’s Titans home games and Titans away games.
